Name : ADIB Abdennaji

Date of Birth : April 10, 1959, Morocco

WORK EXPERIENCE

1998 : Grant from MEDIATORS DIAGNOSTIKA (AUSTRIA) carried out at the Laboratoire de Chimie Génétique, Faculté de Pharmacie, France. Supervisors : Dr J.-P. Behr and Dr Thomas Schlederrer. Investigations :

Synthesis of spermino-inosine and its incoporation at desired sites of various oligodeoxynucleotides on automated DNA synthesizer. This sperminoligodeoxynucleotides were labeled at 3' or 5' position with fluorescein or biotin and used in PCR.

10/1994-12/1996 : Grant from Rhône Poulenc (France) carried out at the Laboratoire de Chimie Génétique. Faculté de Pharmacie, France. Supervisor : Dr J.-P. Behr. Investigations:

1. Design and synthesis of oligodeoxynucleotides bearing polyamines linked to 2-amino of guanosines by pre- and post-oligomerization : new synthetic strategies of 2-fluoro-inosine and 2-polyamino-inosine.
2. Design of synthetic vectors for gene transfer based on cationic polymers : new synthetic galactosylated polyethyleneimine towards delivery to hepatocytes.

05/1994-09/1994 : Postdoctoral position carried out at the Laboratoire de Chimie Génétique, Faculté de Pharmacie, France. Supervisor : Dr J.-P. Behr.
Synthesis of new cationic lipids like DOGS "TRANSFECTAM TM". This new cationic lipid systems have the same efficiency of gene transfer than DOGS (confidential report, Rhone Poulenc).

1993 : Postdoctoral position in the Hoffmann La Roche's laboratory of Neurology, Bâle (Switzerland). Synthesis of neuroleptics.

1989-1993 : Ph.D in Stereochemistry at the University Louis Pasteur (ULP) of Strasbourg (France). Asymmetric synthesis of optically pure epoxides :

1. Design and synthesis of new chiral sufonium salts in asymmetric epoxidation: the absolute configuration of chiral sulfonium has been determined by X-ray and 2D-NMR.
2. Design of new chiral thioester for synthesis of a,b-epoxyesters optically active (unpublished results).

TRAINING PERIODS

1989-1993 : Ph.D in organic chemistry at the ULP of Strasbourg (France). Asymmetric synthesis of optically pure epoxides.

1988 : Master's degree in Biochemistry : UV of Biochemistry, Organic Chemistry and Pharmacology.
